Terms of service
Last updated 19 July 2026
These are the terms for buying and using Umbra. They are written to be read, not to be impressive — if anything here is unclear, ask and we will make it clearer.
What you're buying
A licence to run the Umbra desktop application on the number of machines your plan allows — one on Solo, five on Team. The licence is a right to use the software, not ownership of it.
The desktop builds for Windows and macOS are not released yet. Buying now gets you a licence key and your place in the queue. There is no Linux build and none is planned.
Umbra does not include proxies. You bring your own, from whichever provider you choose, and your relationship with them is separate from this one.
Billing
Card plans are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time from your dashboard — see Refunds & cancellation.
Paying in USDC is not a subscription. It buys a fixed 30-day term, charged once — nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel. To carry on past the term you pay again.
If a card payment fails we keep your licence working while our payment provider retries, and we email you. If it is still unpaid after those retries, the licence lapses. Your data stays on your computer either way.
Prices may change. If they do, we will tell you before the change affects a renewal.
Acceptable use
Umbra is for managing accounts you own or are authorised to operate, and for testing, verification and research. It is not for fraud, for breaking into accounts that are not yours, or for anything illegal where you are.
You are responsible for following the terms of the sites you use Umbra with. Using it to manage multiple accounts may breach some sites' own rules; that is between you and them, and it is your call to make knowingly.
We may suspend a licence being used for fraud or illegal activity. We would rather ask first, and we will, unless the situation makes that unwise.
What we don't promise
Umbra measures and reports what it can check, and it is deliberately explicit about what it has not checked. It does not and cannot guarantee that a site will never link or ban your accounts — no software can, and anyone claiming otherwise is selling you something.
The software is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you have paid us in the previous twelve months.
Your data
Your accounts, proxies and settings are stored on your own computer. Cloud sync is optional and end-to-end encrypted with a passphrase you choose and we never receive — which means we cannot read your synced data, and cannot recover it if you lose the passphrase.
See Privacy for what we do hold.
Ending it
You can cancel any time. We can end a licence for a serious breach of the acceptable-use terms above, and will refund any unused period if we do.
