Billing

Plans, paying by card or crypto, renewals, cancelling and refunds.

What it's for

This page is the money side of your licence: what the plans cost, the two ways to pay, what a renewal or a missed payment does, and how a refund works. The activation and device side — entering your key, moving a licence between machines, what happens to your Accounts if a payment lapses — lives on Plan, licence & devices.

The one line to carry out of here: a lapsed or cancelled payment never deletes your Accounts. They stay on your machine either way.

Two plans

Solo — $19.99/mo
One operator, one machine. One device on the licence, unlimited Accounts.
Team — $49.99/mo
A crew off shared Accounts. Five devices and five seats (five people), unlimited Accounts, plus the decision board and shared buy-list.

Both plans are priced per month — by card that's a monthly subscription; by crypto, a one-off 30-day term at the same price. See the full feature split on Pricing. A device is a machine; a seat is a person — two different caps, so a Team plan is five people across up to five computers.

Pay by card or by crypto

Card — a monthly subscription

Checkout runs through Stripe. Your plan and licence key go live as soon as the payment clears — usually moments after you finish checkout — and the subscription renews each month until you cancel. Upgrading or downgrading changes the one subscription in place and prorates it, so you're never billed for two plans at once.

Crypto — a one-off 30 days, reviewed by hand

Pay in USDC and you buy a fixed 30-day term, not a subscription. Send the exact amount, then paste your transaction hash. It is checked on-chain and approved by a person — so it is not instant, and nothing unlocks until it clears. Nothing renews; pay again to extend.

Renewals, a declined card, and grace

A card subscription renews on its own each month. If a renewal is declined, you are not locked out.

Still working
Umbra keeps running while we retry the card. The dashboard flags the failed payment, and the email names the exact date cover lasts until.
The fix
Update your card and it clears immediately. If nothing changes by the deadline, the licence lapses — and your Accounts stay on your machine in limited mode (see Plan, licence & devices).

Cancelling, and what stays

Manage or cancel a card subscription yourself from the dashboard — Manage billing opens Stripe's portal. Cancelling keeps your access to the end of the period you've already paid for; you are not cut off mid-month, and the cancellation is confirmed by email so it's never silent. (A crypto licence has nothing to cancel — it simply runs out its 30 days.)

Refunds

Within 14 days
Email support for a full, no-reason refund of a charge. Card refunds go back to the original method, usually 5–10 working days depending on your bank.
After 14 days
No refund for time already elapsed, but you can cancel to stop future charges.
Crypto
A chain payment can't be reversed, so a refund is a fresh USDC transfer to an address you give us — same 14-day window.

For anything billing-related that the dashboard doesn't answer, see Support.
