What it's for

Four pieces of chrome never go away, whatever screen you're on: the sidebar, the who-row, the strip of open Sessions, and the session dock. Learn these once and the app stops having corners. This page is the tour.

The sidebar — where things live

The sidebar down the left edge is primary navigation. It never holds Sessions; it switches the work surface behind them. Every destination is named, and the groups say when you'd come to each.

The groups are real, not a hairline between rows: each is announced to a screen reader, and focus order walks them exactly as the eye does. Search commands and Notifications live in the title bar, top right.

The who-row — whose Account is live

Above the groups, the who-row carries the one fact you can't afford to get wrong: which Account is live right now. It shows the Account's colour, monogram and name, and — when a screen is covering the live page — the line back to its session.

This is the guard against the cardinal error: acting in the wrong Account. The row is also a button. From any screen it means back to the live page; with nothing open, it starts a new session.

The Session strip — your open browsers

Along the top sits the strip of open Sessions. Each carries its Account's name and colour dot, plus live ambient status during a drop — a queue pill with an advancing or slipping arrow, a cart timer, a Shopify race dot. The race dot's own tooltip says it plainly: status is observed; Umbra never auto-buys.

The + button opens a new Session, and it names the identity you'll get — a new Session in the active Account, or "home internet (no account)" when there's nothing to inherit. A second Session on the same Account isn't a second identity.

The session dock — tools beside the page

On the right, a drawer sits beside the live page without covering it: the tools a drop operator reaches for without leaving the site.
